Who am I?

I thought you might want to know a little about me. My name is Mary-Lou and I am a Christian woman in her 50s. I live in Canada, I have been married to my hubby for over 30 years and we have two grown sons. My eldest son married his high school sweetheart a few years ago and they have now blessed their father and I with an awesome grand-daughter and a new grand-son.

My youngest son has graduated from University and has started his life out in the ‘real world’. Who knows what the future will hold for him? Only God knows that!

All my life, I have known about God and Jesus, but five years ago, I finally gave my entire heart to Jesus and what a difference it has made in my life! I have been born again! I have a wonderful personal relationship with God. He is changing me and I love who I have become. I feel comfortable in my own skin and I know God is always there watching over me and guiding me.

I belong to a wonderful local church where I produce a monthly E-Newspaper for the women of my congregation. At my church, I am also involved in a ministry that hosts a monthly women’s
morning with a guest speaker, fellowship and discussions afterward. It is so rewarding.

Chemo Angel logoI am also a ‘Chemo Angel’, helping to spread a little sunshine and encouragement in the life of someone undergoing chemotherapy for their cancer. To find out more about this wonderful volunteer organization, please visit their website at www.chemoangels.com.

When I get the opportunity, I also enjoy sewing. I sew for family and friends and I was recently involved with a group called “PJ’s for Preemies”. With this association, my duty is to sew soft flannelette shirts for newborn preemie babies to be used in Toronto Sick-kids Hospital.

I am fortunate to say that I have a wonderful support group of ladies clipartgreat Christian women in my life. My best friends, my ‘Soul Sisters’, are all Christian women who live in my neighbourhood. Since we have all come to know the Lord and have a personal relationship with Him, we have all grown in our love for one another at the same time.

I also fellowship with a group of women called the “Sistas”. We get together once a month and cook a themed meal and eat it together, pray together, and give support to each other. God has truly blessed me in the friend department!

When I am not busy socializing or volunteering, I work in an office two days a week. In my spare time I love to golf and read and do Bible studies.

My dog BaxterI have a big, old, Golden Retriever dog, named Baxter, who is very obedient and lovable. He is a true ‘golden’ Golden. He brings me so much joy and asks for so little in return. We could all take a lesson on life by observing our dogs. They humbly ask to be petted and sit quietly at our feet always within sight of their master.

My husband and I love to travel and we have been to many countries in this great big, wonderful world that God has created. I have visited every continent and I have experienced so many different cultures. God has always protected me and my family - even when we didn’t even know He was there! I feel that I have been very blessed by God while living on this earth and I thank Him for His wonderful love and guidance!

Hugs Mary-Lou
